Handige functies van je Sony-koptelefoon die je misschien niet kent

In de app Sony Sound Connect zitten functies die je misschien nog niet gebruikt: muziek die vanzelf zachter gaat als je praat, noise cancelling die zich aanpast aan wat je doet, en pauzeren als je de koptelefoon afzet. Hieronder zes functies volgens de Engelstalige hulpgidsen van Sony, met de modellen waarvan Sony de gids publiceert. Sony: "The operation of the "Sony | Sound Connect" app differs depending on the audio device." Wat bij jouw model kan, staat in de hulpgids van dat model.

1. Speak-to-Chat: praten zonder afzetten

Sony bij de WH-1000XM6: "If Speak-to-Chat is enabled in advance, the Speak-to-Chat mode starts automatically when you talk to someone." Dan "The headset lowers the volume of the music being played". En: "When the headset does not detect the wearer's voice for a certain period of time, the Speak-to-Chat mode ends automatically." Bij de WH-1000XM5 gaat de muziek op pauze: "Music playback is paused while the Speak-to-Chat mode is active only when connected via Bluetooth connection." Let op: "In the factory settings, Speak-to-Chat is disabled." Je zet het dus eerst zelf aan in de app.

2. Adaptive Sound Control

Bij de WH-1000XM6 noemt Sony in de app: "Use auto adjustment of the noise canceling function by behavior recognition (Adaptive Sound Control)". De koptelefoon past de noise cancelling dan aan op wat je doet, zoals stilstaan, lopen of reizen. In de gids van de oudere app Headphones Connect staan daarbij ook plaatsen, zoals thuis en werk, en: "You can edit the preset to your desired settings." Of de plaatsen ook in Sound Connect werken, noemt Sony bij de XM6 niet; dat is voor ons onbekend.

3. Pauzeren als je hem afzet

Sony bij de WH-1000XM6: "the headset will pause music playback automatically if the headset is removed." En: "When the headset is worn again, the headset resumes music playback." Ook handig voor de batterij: "the headset will automatically turn off after 15 minutes of not being worn." Bij de WF-1000XM5-oordopjes noemt Sony hetzelfde als je "one or both headset units" uitdoet. 4. Quick Attention: snel iets horen

Sony: "This function turns down music, call sounds, and the ringtone to allow ambient sound to be easily heard." Handig voor een omroepbericht in de trein. "The Quick Attention Mode is activated only when you are touching the touch sensor control panel." Je legt je hand dus op de oorschelp zolang je wilt luisteren.

5. DSEE Extreme

Sony: "DSEE Extreme uses AI technology to reproduce the frequency responses of the original sound source" bij gecomprimeerde muziek. "You can switch the settings with the "Sony | Sound Connect" app." Sony zegt ook: "DSEE is not meant to be used with High-Resolution Audio files, which don't need upscaling." Of je het verschil hoort, test je zelf met hoor het verschil. Meer over geluidskwaliteit via Bluetooth lees je bij lossless via Bluetooth.

6. Find Your Equalizer

In de gids van de app Headphones Connect: "You can find your favorite sound balance by selecting sound while listening to music." En: "The configured values can be saved in [Custom 2] of the [Equalizer] menu." Op welke modellen dit werkt, noemt die pagina niet. Hoe je de equalizer zelf instelt, lees je bij equalizer instellen.

Hoort 360 Reality Audio er ook bij? Sony noemt het "a new music experience using Sony's 360 three-dimensional audio technology"; het werkt alleen met muziek van een streamingdienst die het aanbiedt. Toe aan een nieuwe koptelefoon? Vraag de keuzehulp.
